June 24, 2011

Well, today was Layla's preschool graduation. What a year it has been! So many firsts, for me and for her. It still seems so strange to me that she had 3 hours a day, 2-3 days a week that she lived life away from me. From what I could tell though, her favourite things to do there were to paint on the big art easel (which was pretty evident by the HUNDREDS of paintings she brought home this year, and the fact that probably half of her wardrobe is now paint-stained.) She also loved the sandbox. 9 times out of ten, when I went to pick her up, she was outside playing in the sandbox. She also impressed all of her teachers with her alphabet, reading & writing skills. She took her first school bus ride when her class took a field trip to the Apple Orchard back in the fall. They also took trips to Sobeys to decorate cupcakes and pet the lobsters. And to the post office to mail mother's day cards to their moms. Preschool for the most part, was a lot of fun for her. It's too bad it rained during the graduation party, but the kids hardly noticed and everyone still had lots of fun. I can't believe that in September, she'll be starting JK. All day, every day. We're so proud of her. Happy Graduation Layla!
